This little house fly was finely crafted with an amazing attention to detail so that it adds a creepy crawly realism to any display. Dating to the late 1980's, we purchased them direct from the elderly owner of a family-owned firm while touring his factory in Western Germany. Still in mint, original condition, the handmade vintage flies are more than 35 years old.
Sold as one vintage metal fly.
House fly is just about 3/8" long.
Overall height including the
attached tack pin is ½".
Meticulously crafted from embossed metal, these realistic-looking flies
are so detailed that they have ridged abdomens even on the underside
of the insect. Painted a glossy black, the heads have hand-painted dark
red eyes with a tiny white mouth. And to add to the realism, the clear
acetate wings are actually printed with fine, tight veining to replicate
real fly wings. Each fly is securely soldered onto a sharp tack pin.
