'Springtime Nest'
Cornucopia
Exclusive Easter Ornament
From the Blümchen Atelier
Our old-fashioned candy container cone is a traditional ornament that was quite popular in the late 1800's. A quaint custom was to fill the cornucopias with candies and small treats for the kiddies to discover on Easter Sunday - or on Christmas day, too! Please note that the antique nest scraps are unique, so each ornament is one-of-a-kind.
Made in the same manner as Victorian cone ornaments, we used only antique and old-style materials such as a starry patterned paper from Germany that is 90 years old, ribbon from the 20's, and genuine antique scraps of bird nests that were printed in Germany back in the 1890's.
Sold as one cornucopia.
Ornament is 6½" high from
the cone top to the point.
About our Rare, Vintage Old Stock
'Liner Paper with Brown Stars'
In the early '90s, after the reunification of
East and West Germany, we placed orders
for holiday decorations with a company that
was located in the former East Germany.
Imagine our surprise when we received the
parcels with sheets of this vintage star liner
paper used as packing material!
While this
paper was originally made to line the inside
of paper-mache Easter egg gift boxes, our
creative artists have repurposed the star
paper to create these fanciful ornaments.
