Holiday 1999 Victorian Whimsey
from the Blümchen Atelier
So very naughty to sit in mama's finest purse, because this wee pup is usually such a good boy! A fanciful ornament from our atelier, these mini blown glass figurals were made especially for us by a glassblower friend during a visit to his workshop in Germany. We bought the original ornament mold of the purse in an antiques shop in Thuringia, and he already had an old mold for the teeny pup...so we designed this precious little ornament right then in his glass studio! Exclusive to our atelier, this collectible ornament arrives gift boxed.
Crafted by our artists using vintage and old-style materials, the glass purse was meticulously decorated with finest gilt Dresden trims, German bouillon crinkle wires and imported Austrian 'Perldraht' for the purse handles. Sitting pretty atop a bed of palest blue velvet fabric, his collar bow is real silk ribbon.
Sold as one atelier ornament.
This petite Victorian Whimsey
is 2¾” high to the top of the
handles, and just 1¼" wide.
